Commissioners highlight local business wins, hospital affiliation talks and community honors

At the Feb. 25 Beaver County work session, Commissioner Mann used the commissioners’ reports to emphasize recent economic and community developments.

Mann said the county saw "tremendous turnout" at a recent State of the County event and represented Beaver County at a Pittsburgh Business Times business event. He highlighted ongoing affiliation discussions between Heritage Valley and Allegheny Health Network and said a Mitsubishi switchgear plant near the county is scheduled to open in the fall and is expected to add about 200 jobs.

Mann also noted energy company Vistra’s expansion and several community recognitions: conservation official Jeff Luke received statewide honors from the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, and Mayor Kenia Johns was named a 2026 Pennsylvania trailblazer by City & State Magazine. Mann framed these items as signs of positive momentum in Beaver County’s economy and quality of life.
