The Morrow County Board of Commissioners voted Oct. 30 to accept a $10,900 moving bid from Options Plus Furniture to relocate the county health department to new offices.
Staff reported two quotes for the relocation: Continental Office at $19,000 and Options Plus Furniture at $10,900. A motion to accept the Options Plus Furniture bid was made and approved by roll call.
Project status and service continuity: staff described ongoing punch-list work at the relocation site, including touch-up painting and remaining plumbing and electrical tasks. Plumbing work has restored some water service to the south half of the building, but staff said not all toilet fixtures are fully installed. Staff said they have begun the application process for a temporary occupancy permit and scheduled cleaning; they expect to minimize the impact to residents and described a target of completing moving arrangements in November. Staff advised the board that some health department services may be limited for one to two days during the move as systems are transitioned.
What happens next: staff will finalize the contract with the selected mover, continue finishing work at 480 Douglas Street, complete temporary-occupancy permitting and notify the public of any short service interruptions.
