The Lebanon Board of Education on April 15 approved a tentative three-year contract between Lebanon City Schools and the Lebanon Education Association that the district said runs from Sept. 1, 2024, through Aug. 31, 2027.
Superintendent (speaking during the contract discussion) told the board the district and the union reached a collaborative agreement that staff view as competitive with market raises in southwest Ohio. “It's time for us to negotiate with our teachers union, and we were able to negotiate a 3 year contract,” the superintendent said. Board members moved and approved the tentative agreement by roll-call vote with all five members recorded as yes.
District staff said the tentative deal follows several months of bargaining and that the agreement will be incorporated into the district’s five-year forecast once final terms are complete. No detailed salary tables or specific dollar amounts for raises were read into the public record during the meeting; the board approved the tentative agreement itself rather than a finalized contract document.
The board’s vote was for approval of the tentative agreement only; next steps will be final ratification as required by the collective-bargaining process and any necessary administrative signings. The board did not vote on final salary schedules at the April 15 meeting.
The board adjourned after approving a range of other consent and personnel items; a timeline item shows the district expects to include negotiated terms in upcoming budget forecasts.
