The Lebanon Board of Education voted April 15 to approve a contract with Prodigy Building Solutions for HVAC replacement at the district Transportation Building and paving and crack-filling work at several district parking lots.
Staff said the contract was procured through the Topsy consortium and that district facilities lead Mr. Butler obtained additional quotes; Prodigy’s bid was the lowest. “The consortium itself would have been sufficient for us in terms of competitive bidding, but he got multiple quotes in addition to that,” staff said at the meeting. Board members were told the work will be funded from permanent improvement funds.
The scope described at the meeting includes crack filling, repainting, driveway replacement in front of the auditorium, and paving/maintenance at the junior high, the DPC and other lots. Staff clarified the district is not doing full mill-and-fill reconstruction of all lots now but is performing maintenance to delay larger replacements.
During the motion discussion staff said the contract amount came in “just under $350,000.” The board approved the contract by roll-call vote with all five members recorded as yes.
Work scheduling, contractor start date and expected completion dates were not specified in the public discussion; the board approved the contract authorization and funding source.
