At the Feb. 23 meeting the East Bethel City Council approved consent-agenda items that included a planned playground purchase funded from park-dedication fees and several procedural consent votes.
City staff told the council the development is through phase two of approvals and has submitted $162,000 in park-dedication fees. Staff gave the proposed playground price as $125,837 and listed $19,002.57 for a zip line; staff described a combined total on the screen and in discussion as $145,000.94. A council member asked where the zip line would be sited; staff said it would be placed off the main playground area in the same manner as an existing zip line at Booster West.
Council members discussed formatting of the bill lists in the packet (vendor vs. department lists) and asked staff to follow up on consolidating or clarifying presentation of bills. Several consent items were pulled for brief discussion and then approved; the playground purchase (Item D) was moved and approved by voice vote during the consent process.
The transcript records approval by voice vote but does not provide roll-call tallies for the consent votes. The council also approved a resolution to schedule a spring town-hall meeting for Wednesday, April 29, 2026, and discussed the possibility of a brief question-and-answer period on Booster Day.
