The City of Boulder Cannabis Licensing and Advisory Board voted unanimously Feb. 23 to grant a recreational dispensary license to 5 25 Dispensary LLC for a proposed location at 525 Canyon Boulevard.
Licensing staff told the board that the application packet is complete and that preliminary staff findings were entered into the record. The clerk read ownership and premises information into the hearing record, and the applicant’s owner and representative were sworn in before providing testimony.
Board members raised a small number of technical questions during the staff presentation, including whether the applicant had implemented the city’s good-neighbor outreach and an odor and ventilation plan. The applicant said those steps would be completed around the time of opening and that they planned to notify neighbors within 500 feet.
Licensing staff described the applicant as cooperative and said the zoning review is complete. "This applicant has been fantastic to work with," a staff member told the board during the presentation.
During deliberations several members said they found the application to be complete and without unusual concerns. Board member Adam moved to approve the application, citing the written application, staff report and testimony. A second motion was made, and the clerk conducted a roll-call vote. The board voted unanimously to approve the license.
Staff told the applicant they would contact them in the coming days to schedule required inspections and to discuss the inspection timeline. The board said it will work with the city attorney’s office to prepare a final written decision documenting the vote and rationale.
The board closed the hearing with a direction to move the matter to final written decision and to coordinate next steps with licensing staff.
