New and returning members sworn in; board elects chair and vice-chair

At the start of the meeting, the advisory board administered the oath of office to the newly appointed and reappointed members: Robert Bramlett, Terry Morrison, Lenora Nelson, James Perrotta and Eeth (Edith) Ramlo. The oath was read aloud by the official administering the ceremony and each appointee repeated it.

Afterward, the board opened nominations for leadership. The board nominated Justin for chair and Eeth (Edith Ramlo) for vice chair; the nomination was seconded and the chair reported the motion carried following a voice/raised-hand count. The board then moved to approve minutes from the Dec. 2 meeting; the motion passed with recorded abstentions for members not present at the earlier meeting.

Those formal actions concluded the administrative portion of the agenda and paved the way for the day's substantive items.
