A St. Vincent de Paul representative said the nonprofit provides basic needs and emergency financial assistance to neighbors across Central Kenton County and nearby counties, and asked community members to volunteer for its Erlanger call center and thrift-store operations.
"We provide basic needs and emergency financial assistance to our neighbors who might be struggling to make ends meet," the representative said, describing the organization’s direct client support alongside its thrift-store fundraising.
The speaker said the organization’s service area stretches west to Carroll County, east to Bracken County and south to Grant and Pendleton counties, and called Erlanger "ideal geographically" for a central dispatch point. "We've been in this location since 1969, and we know we will continue to be here for the next 100 years because we know the need will never go away," the representative said.
The nonprofit said demand has increased significantly over the past five years, and that continued growth is needed to meet the community’s needs. It highlighted thrift stores as a flexible funding source that allows staff and volunteers to respond to local requests.
The representative provided call-center details for people seeking help or wanting to volunteer: "They can call (859) 341-3219, Monday through Friday from 10 to 2," and said volunteers field calls to collect callers’ names, addresses, phone numbers and a description of the problem so the organization can determine appropriate assistance.
The representative urged volunteers to help sort material donations and staff the call center, calling volunteer support "a huge help" and stressing the organization’s impact in Northern Kentucky.
No formal actions, motions or votes were recorded in the transcript; the remarks were presented as an informational outreach and a volunteer recruitment appeal.
