Parish announces monthlong North Hoover closure and months-long Easley Road bridge work

Parish staff told the Tangipahoa Parish Council that two road closures will affect local traffic in coming weeks.

Robbie, a parish staff member, said North Hoover Road will be closed from Sunday, March 8 through Sunday, April 5 for work requiring heavy equipment; local residents will retain access to their driveways. Robbie said the parish will issue press releases and social-media notices about the closure.

Robbie also reported that Easley Road will be closed east of North Cooper Road for a bridge replacement beginning Monday, March 9 and continuing until approximately Monday, Aug. 3; staff noted that current road signs show incorrect dates and will be corrected.

Council members asked no substantive follow-up questions and thanked staff for the update. Staff said notices will be distributed to affected residents.
