The Vigo County board voted to approve an engagement letter for its financial consultants and said it will hold evening public sessions to review school-corporation finances and answer questions.
Board members approved the engagement letter after a motion from Jim and a second from Mark, the board chair said. The board also approved the minutes from its previous meeting by voice vote. The board plans a Thursday meeting that will include Kristin McClellan of Ice Miller serving as bond counsel and representatives from Crowe and Tim Berry to review updated 2025 financials, according to board remarks.
"We recognize there's been a lot of misinformation posted on social media here recently, and so we wanna give for folks that maybe wanna ask us questions," a board member said, explaining why the board intends to schedule evening meetings and to announce dates on Thursday. Board members said they will coordinate with other local schedules to avoid conflicts.
No formal decisions about school budgets or tax transfers were made at the meeting; officials said the upcoming sessions will provide more detail and opportunity for public questions.
The board adjourned after routine business was completed.
