Kingsford Heights' town council on Feb. 23 approved prior meeting minutes, cleared the claims docket and named a representative to the regional planning commission.
The council voted unanimously to approve the minutes of the Feb. 9 regular meeting and the memorandum minutes from an executive session on Feb. 18. The presiding officer said corrections to the minutes had been made in advance and called for a motion; the approvals carried on voice votes.
On the claims docket, a staff member explained two vendor charges (vendor numbers 582 and 583, warrants 5672 and 5673) were temporarily posted to the park rentals deposit because the appropriation had not yet been changed in Keystone; staff said they would correct the coding. The council then approved the claims docket for $70,855.01.
The council considered appointment of a representative to the Northern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC). After a motion and second, the board appointed Dwayne Arndt as the town's NIRPC commissioner; the presiding officer said a certificate of appointment would be prepared for signature. The vote was reported as four ayes and one nay.
Other operational items approved included a motion to buy a community-center first-aid kit (moved and seconded) and authorization to proceed with preliminary planning for upgraded security systems (see separate item). The meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
