The Hughson City Council adopted Resolution 2026-05 at its Feb. 23 meeting to approve midyear operating-budget adjustments for fiscal year 2025–26.
Finance staff (Miss Kim) presented key revenue and expenditure changes, citing revised property-tax and sales-tax projections, one-time grant removals and specific adjustments in recreation, public retirement and utilities (water and sewer) funds. Staff described grouping several sewer line items and noted payroll changes tied to unfilled positions; the presentation also listed equipment and maintenance increases for pumps and compressors and upward revisions to medical insurance costs. Staff provided an updated resolution reflecting the amended totals and asked the council to approve it as amended.
Council moved to adopt the resolution as amended; roll-call voting recorded 'aye' votes from Mayor Carr, Mayor Pro Tem Kroeger and council members Strang, McFadden and Vasquez. The motion passed 5–0.
Staff said they would continue to refine line-item details and that a full fiscal-year presentation would appear with the next budget cycle. The exact consolidated dollar total in the printed slides was updated at the meeting; staff provided the amended resolution to council members and asked that they approve the revised numbers on the record.
