Palatine’s fire-policy committee approved temporary street closures and a waiver of the village sound-amplification ordinance for Dirty Nellies’ St. Patrick’s Day parade and for a Tap House post-parade event, and placed the items on the council’s consent agenda.
Organizers described planned entertainment and logistics: Jim Dozle said the event will include Irish music, bands and bagpipers, while Scott Ward said the Tap House post-party would feature a tent, bands and food. Staff described these as recurring community events and recommended approval, stating the village has had no issues in prior years.
The committee also approved StreetFest plans for 2023, noting last year’s switch to a quieter, barbecue-themed town-square format was well received. Staff said they will prioritize Palatine restaurants for concessions, reach out early to secure participants and consider food trucks only if space permits. The committee approved placing StreetFest items on the consent agenda.
