At reconvened session, council moved, seconded and approved the consent agenda covering several committee items and routine administrative actions.
Items placed on the consent agenda included approval of the minutes, the Police Policy & Code Services Committee’s special-use transfer allowing continued operation of a used auto dealership at 2240 North Rand Road (with outstanding improvements to be completed by June), adoption of the Village of Palatine’s official 2023 zoning map (a statutorily required administrative action), an extension of the village’s landscape-maintenance contract with incumbent Brian Edward Landscaping (initial annual cost $79,968 with 3% labor increases), the Fire Department purchase of battery-driven extrication tools (approximately $57,000 from prior ARPA allocations) and formal adoption of the 2022 Mutual Aid Box/Alarm System (MABUS) agreement. Committee chairs reported the items had been moved, seconded and voted out of committee for placement on consent.
The clerk took a roll-call vote on the consent motion (waiver of first reading). Councilmembers recorded as voting "Aye" in the roll call included Councilman Millar, Councilman Lamoran, Councilman Mzlinski, Councilman Solberg, Councilman Kozlowski and Councilman Helms. The consent items will be finalized following the appropriate administrative steps (budget adjustment for the TIF appropriation will be returned to council later if approved).
