At its Feb. 23 meeting, the Caldwell County Board of Commissioners completed several personnel actions.
Chair introduced and welcomed Tasha Brown as the new clerk to the board, read a short biographical sketch noting Brown's 17 years of local government experience and Caldwell County ties, and the honorable Wayne Rash administered the oath of office. Brown responded "I do" during the oath.
The board also adopted a resolution recognizing library director Leslie Griffin's retirement after more than eight years with the Caldwell County Public Library. Chair read Griffin's service history, including roles dating back to 2017 and earlier library experience, and the resolution was adopted unanimously.
Following a closed session held under North Carolina General Statute § 143-318.11(A)(4) and (A)(6), county manager Shane Fox reported the Library Board of Trustees had unanimously recommended Janet Ford as the new librarian for Caldwell County. The board voted to appoint Janet Ford with a start date of March 1, 2026.
All personnel motions recorded at the meeting carried by voice vote.
