Minnesota House adopts joint-session deadlines, reassigns bills and adjourns until Feb. 25

ST. PAUL — The Minnesota House on Feb. 19 adopted a Senate-transmitted concurrent resolution establishing joint deadlines for the 2026 regular legislative session, approved two committee reassignments for pending house files and set its next floor session for Feb. 25, 2026.

Representative NSCA, who introduced the Senate message to the House, described Senate Concurrent Resolution Number 6 as "the concurrent resolution setting out the joint, deadlines between the house and senate that were agreed to by, leadership," and urged members to support it. After brief remarks and a voice vote, the House adopted the resolution; the transcript records aye/nay responses but does not provide numeric vote tallies.

Representative Elkins moved to recall House File 2700 from the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law and re-refer it to the Committee on Commerce, Finance and Policy, saying, "So, this bill will have to go through both of those committees this week.
