An unnamed board member for Teton County School District #1 announced at a special meeting on April 11 that the board had received a letter of resignation from Dr. Gillian Chapman, effective June 30, 2025.
The board member said the board would not take formal action at the session but has begun developing a plan to identify an interim superintendent. "We will have that decision within 30 days," the board member said.
The speaker also thanked Dr. Gillian Chapman for 10 years of service to Teton County, saying the district she is moving to in Kansas "is very lucky." The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn, a second and a voice vote in which members answered "Aye." No formal personnel action was recorded at the meeting.
The board provided the resignation date and a target timeline for naming an interim, but the meeting record did not identify additional details such as how candidates will be solicited, whether an external search firm will be used, or who will serve in the interim role. The board did not vote on the resignation at the April 11 special meeting.
The meeting was called to order at about 11:27 a.m., included the Pledge of Allegiance, and adjourned shortly after the announcement; no further business was reported.
