The Silver Falls School District Board of Education voted Feb. 9 to appoint four candidates to its budget committee to fill four three‑year terms.
After reviewing applications and hearing brief introductory remarks, the board made a single motion to appoint all four candidates as presented; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The appointees named by the board were Sarah Brown, Gary Cedar, Eamon Sabo and Kyle Palmer. Sarah Brown joined the meeting virtually and described herself as a business owner with nonprofit executive experience and service on boards; she said she currently works with the Oregon Food Bank. Gary Cedar introduced himself and said he has about 15 years of public- and private‑sector finance experience, including work at the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Board members thanked the applicants for volunteering and asked staff to notify appointees and provide dates and onboarding information. The appointments were approved without a roll‑call tally recorded in the meeting minutes.
