Council confirms Kathleen Reardon to Animal Control Commission

The Los Angeles City Council confirmed Kathleen Reardon to the Animal Control Commission after councilmembers praised her long commitment to animal-control work and appointed her to the post.

Councilmember Stokowski said she met Reardon and described her as a ‘‘bridge’’ who would bring balance to the city’s animal services. Councilmembers Alatorre, Chick and Holden joined others in a unanimous show of support, citing Reardon’s history volunteering with wildlife stations and her degree work (noted in her resume) as evidence of long-term commitment.

The clerk tabulated the vote and the transcript records the chair stating, "10 ayes." The council welcomed Reardon and directed her to take the oath and join commission work.

The item was handled early in the regular agenda alongside other confirmations and continuations.
