County staff told the Board they intend to replace the county’s more than-20-year-old financial and payroll system to improve security, reporting and internal controls. The ERP adoption will affect all departments, the Auditor’s Office and partner special districts. A formal RFP concluded and proposals are under evaluation; staff said vendor demonstrations and selection will be completed in advance of a June Board presentation with a recommendation and contract request.
To avoid disruption of county core services during implementation, staff requested eight limited-term (temporary) positions distributed across departments: two in the Auditor–Controller’s Office, three in Information and General Services (two technical analysts and one admin analyst), and one each in Community Development Agency, Health & Human Services Agency and the CEO’s office. The positions will “backfill” day-to-day duties so subject-matter staff can support vendor selection, process redesign, testing and training. Departments expect the limited-term posts to expire no later than December 31, 2026, aligned to projected go-live schedule. The Board approved the staffing resolution by roll call and directed staff to return with vendor selection and final budget details.
