At its regular meeting the Boone City Council approved a package of resolutions, routine authorizations and travel requests in a single session of roll-call votes.
Key outcomes: the council set a public hearing for an access easement (hearing scheduled for March 2, 2026), approved a resolution authorizing the sale of city property at 932 8th Street (Resolution 3483), and advanced financing actions including a $1.3 million water revenue capital loan note and proceedings for a $2.146 million general obligation note.
Public safety items approved included out-of-state travel for a firefighter to attend training in Aurora, Ill., in July (funded in the department budget) and adoption of Resolution 3486 to execute a vehicle exhaust removal system funded in part by a federal grant. The council also approved staff to apply for an Economic Development Administration grant seeking $1,000,000 toward a proposed water tower project.
A travel delegation to Washington, D.C., for federal advocacy was authorized after a motion; the registration cost cited was approximately $3,800 per person. That motion passed with one dissenting vote (Hammer voted no during roll call). Other routine consent-agenda items were approved en bloc.
The council took its votes by roll call on each resolution; staff will publish required notices and include the formal resolutions in the meeting minutes.
