Senate adopts standing committee reports 2479–2693 and adjourns until Feb. 23

The Senate convened, completed a roll call showing 24 members present and one excused, adopted standing committee reports 2479–2693 and adjourned until 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23.

Senator Kim introduced and recognized 42 eighth-grade social studies students from Moanalua Middle School and their teachers, saying, "Welcome to your state senate." The introductions occurred after the journal of the preceding day was read and approved.

The clerk announced Governor's message numbers 7 13 through 7 24, transmitting nominations to various boards and commissions; those messages were referred in accordance with the order of the day.

On a motion by Senator Wakai and a second from Senator DeCorte, the Senate moved to adopt standing committee reports numbers 2479 through 2693. There was no recorded discussion; the president asked for objections, and, when none were raised, declared the motion carried.

Later in the session, Senator Wakai moved that the Senate stand adjourned until 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 23; Senator DeCorte seconded. With no objections, the president announced the Senate would adjourn to that date and time.
