Committee recommends no objection to Edge Lounge renewal; motion passes unanimously

At its Feb. 19 meeting the Initiative Committee voted to forward a letter of no objection to the State Liquor Authority for the on‑premise renewal of Edge Lounge, located between 2040 and 2044 Eastchester Road. A committee member moved "to present a letter of no objection," citing background that the proprietor missed a 30‑day notice deadline and had requested an administrative waiver. Officer Bell reported no problematic calls at the location.

Committee discussion clarified that the waiver could be issued administratively by staff and that the full board would still take the formal renewal vote at the next meeting. The committee agreed the waiver could be provided to expedite licensing if staff confirmed eligibility. Members asked staff to stamp and scan the standardized notice form and to include the item on the full board agenda. The committee’s motion to send a letter of no objection passed unanimously.

Staff were tasked with contacting the applicant about attending the rescheduled meeting if needed and to forward the signed/dated paperwork to the SLA. The committee recorded the motion as an on‑premise renewal recommendation to the SLA and did not record roll‑call votes in the committee minutes.
