At its Feb. 19 meeting the Stonecrest Film and Entertainment Commission discussed recruiting advisory‑committee members, defining committee roles and resolving branding for commission materials.
Commissioners agreed the advisory body should be active and useful: each commissioner was asked to propose about five advisory members so the commission could build a working group of roughly 20–25 advisors. Commissioners requested a concrete job description for advisory members; the Chair and staff committed to produce a written role description and to circulate it to commissioners.
Staff emphasized operational expectations for the advisory committee: advisors can advise on events, communications and volunteer recruitment and do not necessarily have to live in the appointment district. Commissioners proposed committees for events, programs and hosting and agreed to nominate committee chairs. They scheduled a working meeting (proposed March 12 at 4:30 p.m.) to draft event dates, partnerships and cost estimates for staff to include in the budget.
On branding, Economic Development Director Randall said communications staff have instructed that the film commission, as a city entity established by ordinance, must use Stonecrest/Economic Development branding rather than a separate, independent logo. Randall said staff can design approved commission materials and provide a city‑run ordering mechanism for shirts and promotional items after the logo and template are finalized.
The commission passed administrative agenda items (agenda, minutes, calendar) by voice vote earlier in the meeting and adjourned after discussing next steps for committees and budget planning.
