The City Manager updated the City Council on several local projects and near-term schedule items.
He said a draft land-bank ordinance and a comprehensive-plan workshop will be placed on the March 4 agenda, followed by first and second readings and, if approved, a ballot question. Regarding infrastructure, the manager reported the bridge-repair project remains on schedule for a June completion; culverts were arriving in 8-foot sections and traffic management will be used during construction.
On the Alexander Island entrance project, staff said the city obtained FDEP approval for the water-line work and that stormwater stub-outs and road work will proceed; the manager projected that the specific project work would be completed by April 30. For the quiet-zone work near the SunRail station, the manager said the quiet zone was approved and the city expected to solicit bids; the construction estimate for three intersections was approximately $80,000–$85,000, and work requires contractors certified to work in railroad rights-of-way.
Council had no additional public participation on these items and the meeting concluded with adjournment.
