Plan Commission approves minutes and three land-use recommendations to Village Board

At its Feb. 19, 2026 meeting, the Village of Jackson Plan Commission approved routine procedural items and recommended Village Board approval for three land-use items.

The commission approved the minutes from Dec. 18, 2025 after a motion by Speaker 4 and a second by Speaker 5; the motion carried on a voice vote. Item 3, a review of an extraterritorial two-lot certified survey map for parcels T 70736 and T 7073600 for Jeffrey and Ruth Smith, was moved by Speaker 5 and seconded by Speaker 4; Speaker 3 noted Mr. Smith was present, and the commission recommended Village Board approval on a voice vote.

Item 4 considered a conditional use and site-plan review for Rad Investments LLC (dba UEMSI/HTV) at W209 N17391 Industrial Drive. Speaker 7 moved to recommend approval of the conditional use and site plan for construction of a 7,040-square-foot storage building; Speaker 6, identified in the record as the property owner/applicant, said the building will enclose aluminum tubing and HDPE hydro tubes used in manufacturing parts for vacuum trucks, reduce on-site storage eyesores and eliminate the need to thaw parts outdoors in winter. The motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.

Item 5 was a conditional use and site-plan recommendation for Riley Hanson to operate an industrial laundry at W208 N16945 North Center Street. Speaker 2 moved to recommend Village Board approval and Speaker 8 seconded; Speaker 3 noted that Mr. Hanson was in the audience and no questions were raised. That motion also passed by voice vote.

All three substantive items were handled by recommendation to the Village Board; no final Village Board action occurred at this meeting. The commission adjourned after confirming no citizens wished to address the commission.
