Council approves industrial rezoning for 10-acre Persimmon Street site

TOMBALL, Texas ' The City of Tomball on Feb. 16 approved a request by Tom Park Developers LLC to rezone approximately 10 acres at 1631 South Persimmon Street from single-family 20 to industrial (Z26-02), in a 5-0 vote.

Staff said the parcel sits amid active industrial and business-park development and that the property's future land-use designation is business park/industrial. Planning staff noted recent rezonings and construction of office-warehouse uses nearby; Planning & Zoning recommended approval by a 4-0 vote.

Council opened and closed the public hearing with no substantive opposition recorded in the meeting and adopted the ordinance after brief discussion. The council vote was recorded by the clerk as "Motion carries 5 0." The rezoning allows development consistent with recent industrial and office-warehouse projects in the corridor; site-specific plans and permits will follow the rezoning process.
