The Las Cruces City Council on April 1 approved Resolution 24‑101, adopting an updated fee schedule for the Quality of Life Department that applies for the remainder of fiscal year 2024 and for FY2025.
Carol Bray, director of the Quality of Life Department, told the council the annual review updates fees for senior programs, library services (lost/damaged items and Wi‑Fi hotspot kits), museum programming and studio classes. Bray said most library programs remain free and that museum admission will continue to be free due to council support. She noted meal charges for guests under 60 remain $7.50 and described range‑based pricing tied to instructor and materials costs for classes.
Councilors asked whether English‑as‑a‑second‑language and GED preparation classes could continue after a grant ended; Bray said the grant funding had ended and volunteer instructors had left but the department is pursuing options and a new FY25 position request.
After brief questions and confirmation there were no public comments on the item, councilors voted by roll call to adopt the fees schedule (recorded vote on the record).
