The City of Lincoln Planning Commission approved multiple consent‑agenda design reviews at its Feb. 18 meeting after a commissioner requested that items 8b and 8c be pulled for discussion.
A commissioner raised concerns about pedestrian and bicycle circulation patterns for The Grove production homes (item 8b), urging stronger requirements to connect parks, schools and trails. Commissioner Jerry Johnson moved approval of item 8b and Commissioner Peter Gilbert seconded; the motion passed by roll call.
For item 8c (Liberty at Lincoln Village 1 and Village 2), the commission split the two resolutions and voted on them separately after advice from the city attorney. Both Village 1 and Village 2 design reviews were approved by roll call votes.
All votes and motions were taken on the public record; no substantive public comments were received during the consent discussions. The approvals allow staff to finalize conditions of approval and proceed with permit clearances per the city’s standard review process.
Votes at a glance: The Grove design review passed on roll call (vote recorded during the meeting). Liberty at Lincoln Village 1 and Village 2 passed when the commission voted separately on each resolution as advised by city counsel.
Next steps: Staff will process final permit documents and conditions of approval for each project and return to the commission or council as required by the city’s permit process.
