The Georgia House advanced several pieces of legislation on Feb. 19 and recorded roll-call results for multiple measures.
House Bill 10-20, presented as a bill to amend the judicial retirement code to align district attorneys’ retirement eligibility with the recent increase to age 65, was adopted after the committee substitute was agreed and passed the House by recorded vote: yeas 164, nays 0. Representative (presenter) said the change mirrors last year’s judicial retirement age adjustment.
House Bill 10-27, introduced by Representative Victor Anderson, allows members of the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia to enter retail electric sales contracts validated by a superior court judge for up to 20 years rather than the current 10-year cap; the bill passed (yeas 162, nays 2).
House Bill 11-61, presented by Representative Marvin Lim and supported by the Gwinnett County Police, the Georgia Chiefs of Police and the Sheriffs Association, clarifies that drivers should move toward the right-hand curb on the approach of an authorized emergency vehicle or during a traffic stop if it is safe to do so. Representative Lim told the House the measure codifies an existing best practice to increase safety; the bill passed (yeas 162, nays 2).
House Bill 11-81, presented by Representative Ballard, simplifies the process for transferring a decedent’s motor-vehicle certificate of title directly to a first-degree relative without an intermediate titling step; the House passed the bill unanimously (yeas 166, nays 0).
Chairman Crow moved to recommit House Bill 11-80 (relating to the Georgia Housing and Finance Authority) to the Rules Committee; the motion was ordered without objection.
Adjournment was moved by the majority leader and the House stood adjourned until Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
