Vice Chair Richard Dellinger told the Oak Hills Park Authority on Feb. 19 that three authority positions are expected to become vacant in June — seats held by Alan Dutton, Denise Brown and Jennifer McAllister were identified as upcoming openings — and encouraged members to solicit applicants.
Dellinger said applicants can submit materials through the city boards-and-commissions portal even if individual openings are not yet listed. He advised outreach in March–April so the mayor can vet recommendations and forward nominees to the City Council at least two weeks before council approval, and he noted a statutory requirement that the authority maintain a minimum number of members from different political parties. "The mayor vets them. The mayor recommends them to the council two weeks before," Dellinger said.
Board members discussed putting a notice on the Oak Hills website and circulating an email to the authority’s contact list; Robert Stowers said he could raise the board’s preferences with the mayor’s office. The authority did not produce a written job specification during the meeting; members suggested highlighting desired backgrounds (golf, tennis, nature) in outreach materials.
