An unidentified personnel staff member presented the personnel department report: HR work was focused on administrative tasks, recruitment, employee relations, onboarding and workers' compensation. The presenter reported the city has 64 employees on file and that one employee is on medical leave.
Staff said the department had received two resumes for the finance director role and listed active vacancies, including a public works CDO driver and the finance director position. A commissioner asked for an organizational chart and job descriptions to understand how positions relate laterally; HR said the chart is in the personnel report and agreed to send commissioners the job descriptions and vacancy details.
The committee also discussed four summer driver positions to support parking enforcement around Gene Clark Park and the canoe livery; staff said the openings would start part time.
