At the Feb. 19 meeting the board approved a special counsel services agreement to assist with matters related to the assessment district and integrated financing district.
Board members discussed the administrative need for counsel as the assessment district work transitions from bond payoff to residual administrative tasks and relief requests. Staff said the assessment district is covering the cost of the special counsel. A motion to approve the special counsel services agreement was made, seconded and carried on a roll-call vote recorded in the meeting as 5–0.
The board did not debate contract text in detail during open session and asked staff to proceed with the agreement under the terms presented. The action was recorded in the meeting minutes as approved by vote.
Next steps: staff to finalize the agreement and proceed under the approved terms; any contract amendments or change orders would return to the board for consideration.
