Orange Unified board delegates settlement authority in closed session, approves consent items 7-0

At the May 23 meeting of the Orange Unified School District Board, the board reported two closed-session decisions and approved its consent calendar unanimously.

During the closed-session report Superintendent Gonzales said the board "agreed with recommendation to delegate authority to the deputy superintendent to settle claim number 619219," and that the "vote was 7-0." He said the board also agreed to delegate settlement authority for claim number 612769, again by a 7-0 vote.

Later in the open session the board considered consent items as a single motion. Trustee Pelley moved approval and Trustee Glass seconded; the board voted and the motion passed 7-0. The meeting closed with no additional public comments and adjourned at 9:29 p.m.
