Lakemore Council approves multiple pay increases, adds Juneteenth to holiday schedule

The Village of Lakemore council voted to approve a series of personnel resolutions and ordinances that change hourly pay rates for several public service, police and fire positions and add Juneteenth as a paid village holiday.

Resolutions presented and adopted during the meeting included: Resolution 7542-2026 (Christopher Alderman increased to $31.00/hour), 7543-2026 (Jean Taylor to $26.50/hour), 7544-2026 (Travis Fockler to $19.00/hour), 7545-2026 (Jeffrey Keege to $18.00/hour), 7546-2026 (Joseph Cole to $17.00/hour), 7547-2026 (Elijah Hunt to $17.00/hour) and 7548-2026 (Tracy McMenemy to $19.00/hour). Each resolution included an open-meeting statement and an effective date listed in the resolution language (02/26/2026).

Council also moved to adopt multiple ordinances affecting department pay scales and other personnel matters. Ordinance 19-15-2026 amends off-duty pay for police secondary work at $45 per hour (with prevailing wage exceptions). Ordinance 19-16-2026 adds Juneteenth as a paid holiday to the Village of Lakemore employee policies and procedures manual. Ordinance 19-17-2026 (police pay scale), 19-18-2026 (fire pay scale) and 19-19-2026 (salary adjustments for the police chief, assistant fire chiefs, village administrator and fiscal officer) were presented and moved toward adoption; the transcript records council roll-call votes and at least one recorded dissent on Ordinance 19-19-2026.

The council processed these items in sequence, often moving to dispense with multiple readings to adopt the measures at the meeting.
