Haralson County commissioners completed a series of votes on routine and intergovernmental matters during their Feb. 1 meeting.
Key actions approved
- Previous meeting minutes and the meeting agenda: The board approved prior minutes and adopted the agenda by voice/hand vote.
- Hospital board nominations: The board approved sending the hospital board’s recommended nominees—Richard Davis, Angela Awalt and Renee Bell—to the hospital board for consideration.
- Cross‑beam abatement: The commission approved an abatement item that had been discussed at the prior meeting.
- T‑SPLOST 3 intergovernmental agreement and resolution to call election: The board approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with cities to renew a T‑SPLOST program as a six‑year tax measure and voted to call the election for the May ballot. County staff said the distribution will follow the same population‑based formula as prior SPLOSTs.
- Waco Fire Department installation contract: The board awarded the installation contract to the lowest conforming bidder, "coal, concrete, and construction," for $42,800. Commissioner Farmer abstained from that vote, citing a professional relationship with one of the bidders.
Several motions had brief discussion and were acted on without roll‑call tallies recorded in the transcript. Where recorded, motions were moved, seconded and approved by the board.
