Epic Sports Park fields: manager says two fields may open after final plan

Rylan Patterson, sports fields and programs manager for Provo City, gave an update on Epic Sports Park at the neighborhood meeting, saying staff are working on a plan to open two fields for public use but that details remain under review.

Patterson said the mayor announced the plan and staff are "still working on what that plan in final form looks like" and that the city will widely publicize any opening. He described typical field-season timing (regular use generally begins in April) and urged residents to check the park webpage (provo.gov/epicsportspark) or email him directly for updates.

During Q&A, Patterson said he would research whether opening fields affects Land and Water Conservation Fund compliance and provide follow-up information by email. He also answered a Zoom clarification about his name spelling and confirmed his contact information would be shared with staff.
