Mayor Jim Dodge said Orland Park is preparing a strategic operating plan for Centennial Park West (CPW) and conducting a feasibility study to evaluate whether a performing arts center can be built and operated there.
The studies are intended to provide data-driven recommendations about what improvements are needed at the CPW concert venue, the long-term operating costs of a performing arts center and whether there is sufficient market demand to support it. "We are preparing a strategic operating plan that will provide clear, data driven recommendations for the future of the CPW concert venue," Dodge said.
Dodge told residents the board’s recent discussion has given staff direction on what elements to prioritize in future studies and emphasized that resident input will be an essential part of the process. "For these and other additional studies we're doing, resident input will be an essential part of the process," he said.
The mayor did not provide a timetable or budget for the studies, and no formal funding decision was recorded in the meeting brief. Staff will use the board’s guidance to focus subsequent analyses and community engagement as next steps.
