The Employment Training Panel approved a single‑employer training contract for Hollywood Park Management Company LLC (doing business as Los Angeles Stadium & Entertainment District) totaling $386,883, with training to take place at the Hollywood Park / SoFi Stadium complex in Inglewood.
Janice Ide, vice president of human resources for Hollywood Park, described the productive‑lab components that the company said justify one‑on‑one training: "The infinity screen... has 80,000,000 pixels inside that Infinity screen... in order to operate that we do 1 on 1 training," Ide said, contrasting highly technical screen operation with simpler examples such as golf-cart certification. Panel members sought clearer justification that productive‑lab training met the regulations’ intent for specialized equipment and facilities.
Panel member Gretchen Newsome asked that the post‑retention wage listed for job number 2 be increased to match job number 1 ($23.15/hour) after training; Hollywood Park representatives agreed. The motion to approve the contract with the wage adjustment was made, seconded, called for public comment (none), and adopted by roll call.
Staff said the contract includes productive‑lab training (1:1 trainer-to-trainee ratios, up to 11 hours of productive lab time for some roles) and that training covers specialists, operations, technical support and equipment operation needed for large stadium events.
