At its Feb. 17 meeting the City of Decatur Planning Commission considered its consent agenda, including Certificate 3661-26 (subdivision of 5.77 acres at 121 Somerville Road NE), site plan 723-26 for the Foxwood subdivision entrance, and the final plat for the Omega Subdivision (a 10.8-acre property to be divided into five parcels). Staff noted standard requirements such as relocation of utilities at the owner's expense and potential gas-main extension if service is desired.
One applicant (certificate 3662-26) elected to withdraw their application prior to consideration. After staff presentation a member of the public, Verinda Orr, asked why she received notice; planning staff explained the city sends notices within a 500-foot radius of proposed sites and that property owners within that radius are notified of pending applications. Staff also pointed out that part of the Omega site includes a parcel likely planned for a hotel and that other parcels remain unspecified until a developer files a site plan.
Consent items were presented for approval as a group; staff confirmed the items will proceed through the usual review and permitting steps (drainage calculations, fire marshal approval where required, and final bond/permit work for improvements).
