FREMONT COUNTY, Wyo. — The Fremont County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 17 approved a construction contract with Alexander Excavation for the Desjed (referred to in the meeting as Dutch/Desjed) Lane reconstruction and authorized a notice to proceed.
County staff said the contract amount was $2,538,864.50 and that the contract documents were included in the contractor's bid package. Commissioners reviewed the standard owner-contractor agreement during the meeting and approved execution of three original contract copies.
Staff also presented a notice to proceed that will begin the contract time on March 16, 2026 and set the contractor's time to complete the work at 180 calendar days. The county indicated a pre-construction meeting among owner, engineer and contractor will be scheduled and a public meeting will be held prior to construction start.
Commissioners asked questions about road costs and scope, and then moved, seconded and approved both the agreement and the notice to proceed by voice vote.
What happens next: Public Works will hold a pre-construction meeting and a public meeting before work begins on March 16, 2026, and the contractor will have 180 calendar days to complete the project as specified in contract documents.
