At its meeting, the Warren County Commission approved a series of routine motions, budget amendments and appointments, recording multiple unanimous votes.
Key outcomes included approval to amend the docket to add an item for a convenience-center property purchase; a friendly amendment to change 'family recovery' language to 'Family Treatment Court' on the docket; and the appointment of Steven Feldman and Vanessa Painter to the Ag Extension Committee to replace two members who had completed three-year terms. The Ag Extension appointments passed unanimously.
Finance items approved included a recommendation from the audit to reclassify an $11,000 annual fee paid to Payne for handling a USDA-issued capital loan from 'interest' to 'other debt service.' The commission also approved a highway department budget amendment to restock highway salt after a major storm and an amendment accepting a Football Booster Club donation to pay overtime for school resource officers at a local event.
The commission accepted a state-funded sheriff’s department training and equipment grant described as 100% state-funded. Roll-call votes were read for each item; several items were recorded as passing 21 to 0.
Several departmental reports were received from sanitation, the sheriff’s department, schools and health and welfare; no public comments were made during the public comment period. The meeting concluded after brief remarks urging civility from one commissioner and a motion to adjourn.
