Tatiana Nood, a representative of Fairfax County Workforce Development Services, outlined county supports for federal employees and contractors seeking local government work, including personalized career coaching, help transforming federal resumes into local‑government formats, WIOA-funded training and connections to employers.
"Through our local employment centers in the region, you can access a variety of tailored resources and services to help you succeed in transitioning from these federal roles into local government opportunities," Nood said. She also pointed participants to a resource hub, one‑on‑one appointments with workforce professionals, and on‑demand webinars and resume templates posted on the county site.
Nood announced a career fair exclusively for federal employees and contractors to be held at the Fairfax County Government Center on Feb. 26 and said the county offers WIOA-supported credentialing and paid work‑based learning opportunities. Andrew Janos noted that Fairfax County posts openings on governmentjobs.com and that additional guidance and HR tips appear on fairfaxcounty.gov/hr.
The county asked attendees to scan QR codes in the webinar materials or visit the workforce page to register for information sessions and the career fair and to schedule individualized assistance.
