The Fargo Historic Preservation Commission unanimously approved an application to add a rear addition and replace windows at 122 9th Street South.
Planning presenter Megan outlined the two‑part project submitted by applicant Peter Nystene: a rear addition holding a kitchen at the main level and unfinished basement storage, and replacement of windows throughout the primary structure. Megan said the packet included elevations, renderings and a materials list provided by the applicant.
The applicant said the team planned to replace windows "like‑for‑like" in the same openings and to remove storm windows; he also said they intend to add an egress window in the basement portion of the addition in case they later finish that space. "We're excited," the applicant said during the presentation.
One commissioner complimented the clarity of the drawings and the detailing of eaves and brackets. A motion to approve the application as submitted passed on a voice vote; planning staff noted final window and egress details will be confirmed during the building‑permit and inspection process.
The commission wished the applicant luck in the renovation work and adjourned the meeting.
