Alpena council approves $903,733.45 in bills, authorizes signatures and postpones animal ordinance to April 20

At its Feb. 16 meeting, the Alpena City Council approved the consent agenda, authorizing payment of bills totaling $903,733.45 and instructing Mayor Johnson and Kirk Soick to sign the warrant. The consent agenda also included approval of change order No. 1 for the 2026 rugs for city facilities project in the amount of $3,787.68; the contract is noted to expire on Dec. 31, 2028.

Councilman Currie moved to approve the consent agenda, and the motion was seconded by the Mayor Pro Tem; the council recorded 'Aye' votes and the motion carried. The items were accepted as presented, with no separate roll-call objections recorded in the transcript.

On a separate item, the presiding official introduced the second reading of Ordinance 25-514, which would amend the city code (chapter 10, Animals).
