Marion County meeting approves routine motions, hires administrative employee and adjusts payroll

Marion County officials met to conduct routine business and approved a string of motions covering minutes, accounts payable, personnel and equipment purchases.

The meeting began with a motion to approve the minutes of the Feb. 3, 2026, regular meeting; Greg moved to approve and Tim seconded. The body then moved, by motion and second, to approve accounts payable.

The board voted to hire Grace Wooten for an administrative position at $15.75 per hour with a six-month probationary period; the motion was moved by Tim and seconded by Greg. Later, the commission accepted bids for a 15-foot batwing bush hog for District 5 following brief discussion of size and price.

Officials approved a correction to Keith Jackson’s pay rate to $21.75 per hour to align his pay with the adopted scale; Kevin Scott explained the increase follows the pay-scale tiers.
