Planning commission forwards UDC text amendment TA-26-02 to City Council with two amendments

The Laramie Planning Commission on Feb. 9 voted unanimously to recommend that the City Council approve TA-26-02, a text amendment to the city’s Unified Development Code, with two amendments attached to the proposal. Philip Gavatula, who provided the meeting recap, said the amendment is part of the planning department’s annual work to clarify definitions, standards and other code items for developers and readers of the code.

Commissioners present for the 4:30 p.m. meeting were White, Bull, Moody, O'Toole, Schneider and Matamore; Sharon Machino was absent. Staff listed as present were Gabatula, Dixon, Shahidi and Shufeld. The agenda and minutes from the previous meeting were approved without changes before discussion of TA-26-02.

According to the meeting recap, two amendments were made during the commission’s discussion. The commission then moved to forward the amended text amendment to City Council for consideration; the motion passed unanimously. The recapper stated that no public comment was received on the item.

The meeting adjourned at 5:33 p.m. The commission is scheduled to meet next on Feb. 23, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers. The Planning Commission’s recommendation will be transmitted to the City Council for its review and any subsequent formal action.
