Local entrepreneur asks Elyria council to consider 'Lorraine Nexus Hub' as downtown tech catalyst

During public comment, Leon Robinson, who identified himself as a resident and the operator of Freshman Enterprises LLC and Ampere Twin LLC, asked the council to evaluate a proposed Lorraine Nexus Hub as a downtown anchor for technology, job creation and 'tech equity.'

Robinson described the project as a localized ecosystem that could provide technological backbone and attract higher-paying jobs, saying his companies could partner with the city to align the hub with the city's master plan. He requested a formal follow-up with the economic development committee to present project details and integration with downtown revitalization efforts.

Council listened but did not commit to a timeline or funding; the clerk recorded Robinson’s petition and the president noted committee referrals. The economic development committee was the appropriate next step for a staff-led review and formal consideration.
