City Manager Will updated the council on administrative work and staffing at the Feb. 17 meeting, then Captain Allen Northrop introduced the city’s new Community Services Officer.
Will thanked staff who led the City Hall RFP Q&A process, saying the city received 169 questions from bidders and that staff worked to answer them in time for the proposals due later in the week. He also said a community strategic-plan survey is open through Feb. 20 and that the city had received roughly 55–60 responses so far.
Captain Allen Northrop introduced CSO Jake Mabry to the council, noting Mabry was hired by the sheriff’s department in January 2020, promoted to community service officer in August 2022, and assigned as Calimesa’s dedicated community services officer in December 2025. Mabry said he is based at the Cabazon station and told the council he is “happy to be working in Calimesa” and looks forward to engaging with residents.
The manager’s updates were presented as administrative information; no formal council action or budget appropriation was taken at the meeting on these items. The council acknowledged the staffing announcement and thanked outgoing officers who received service recognitions earlier in the meeting.
