The Pasco County Board adopted two ceremonial resolutions and approved routine consent items during its Feb. 17 session.
Procurement proclamation: The board approved Resolution No. 26‑128 declaring March 2026 as National Procurement Month in Pasco County, recognizing the purchasing department’s work and noting a recent award and national certifications among staff. Commissioners and staff praised the procurement team’s role in managing a large county budget and ensuring competitive processes.
Bicycle Month: The board approved Resolution No. 26‑129 declaring March 2026 as Florida Bicycle Month and heard remarks from the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and the Metropolitan Planning Organization about kickoff of the county’s active transportation plan and recruiting volunteers for BPAC.
Consent item C8 (liens/mowing): Commissioner Starkey pulled C8 for discussion and asked about vendor origin and cost calculations. Denise Anderson, co‑compliance director, said a competitive process produced the selected, Pasco‑based vendor after previous contractors failed to perform; staff explained the lien resolution reflects clearing cost, penalties and administrative charges and that citations go separately to the Sixth Judicial Court. The board moved and approved the consent list, including C8.
Votes: The proclamations and the consent agenda carried with affirmative votes; procurement and BPAC representatives were present to accept the recognitions.
